Behavioral Healthcare Review Program Component III

Med-Net Healthcare Consulting’s Behavioral Healthcare Review Program provides three components and includes a comprehensive review of the behavioral health provider’s clinical documentation by a team that includes registered nurses experienced in long-term care and behavioral healthcare reimbursement processes.

Component III involves the reviewer’s analysis of psychological and psychiatric consultations in post-acute care settings. The third component of the BHC program provides the necessary behavioral healthcare services to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being in accordance with the comprehensive assessment and plan of care.

The BHC team leader will:

Review with the Client, the contract component and setup of the Program unique to the Client
Identify Client representative/contact who will work with BHC team leader
Provide training on the Program that involves psychological and psychiatric intervention strategies incorporated into the resident’s individual plan of care, prior to Behavior Healthcare reviewers working on the Program. Periodic training sessions will occur at time of orientation to the team and as needed by review/evaluation of the team members.

Med-Net staff will be assigned reviews completed by the psychological/psychiatric consultants. The reviewer will then analyze the psychological/psychiatric consultations assigned and identify recommendations based on the consultation. The team will review the post-acute care resident’s care plan to ensure the consultant recommendations have been accurately incorporated into the resident’s comprehensive care plan. Comprehensive reports will be generated based upon the teams’ findings and will be shared with the client. Training will be available to clients as needed.
